Kokopelli Fresh Mexican Grill is a fast-casual, neighborhood style, Mexican restaurant specializing in made-to-order big-burritos, tacos, taco salads, fajitas and other Mexican favorites. Kokopelli first opened in Phoenix, Arizona in 1997 as the premier, quick-casual “Fresh Mexican” concept in the Southwest. There are 67 franchised units currently sold; with 6 of those slated to open this year in Arizona, North Carolina, Michigan, Nevada and Oregon. Recently units have been sold in Jacksonville, Florida and Toledo, Ohio opened its doors for business in February 2006.
What Makes Kokopelli Stand Apart? We are “The Fresh and Healthy Alternative”. Our food is prepared with all-fresh ingredients using only the highest quality charbroiled and marinated meats, chicken and seafood products, all prepared without the use of lard, additives or preservatives. For those customers that are concerned about their health and waistline, Kokopelli offers “Low Carb” menu items. Customers choose a menu item and build their meal, proceeding down the ordering line while their order is being prepared in front of them. The bold flavors of our made-from-scratch recipes, created by our in-house chef, are further enhanced by our chef’s tastefully designed and flavorful salsa bar. Diners can truly relax in our neighborhood style restaurants, with typical square footage from 1500-2600 sq/ft. with seating for up to 85 inside and additional patio setting outside for up to 30 more people.
Freshen your Multi-unit Business Portfolio. At Kokopelli, we believe that successful franchising is a partnership between the Franchisor and the Franchisee. We're here to offer our many years of multi-unit, owner/operator experience and know-how in the food service and restaurant industry to our franchisee partners. We are actively seeking multi-unit owners willing to commit to a minimum of 5 units opened approximately within 4 years. An initial investment of only $65,000 will secure 5 franchises in a geographic location of your choosing. A liquid capital requirement of $175,000 per unit is required. Dependant upon size, location and other variables such as construction costs and the franchisee’s personal requirements, additional liquid capital may be necessary.
At this time, only multi-unit franchise opportunities are available within the United States. When approved, you will sign an Area Developer Agreement which gives you the right to develop multiple restaurants within a geographic area. As part of the Kokopelli franchise program, the project management team will manage all phases of the franchise development and provide a seamless flow, from Real Estate (site selection, lease negotiation), architecture, design and layout, construction management, equipment purchasing, food procurement and distribution, corporate training, in store training, store set-up, grand opening, and on going operational support.
